ELIOT B. SYKES
Licensed Therapist & Consultant
Originally from northeastern Massachusetts, Eliot called Salt Lake City home from 2004-2023, before returning home again. Eliot identifies as African in America and uses he/him/his pronouns. He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Utah.
Eliot focuses on supporting Black, Indigenous, POC, and LGBTQ+ children, teens, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma (emotional, mental, physical, racial, spiritual) , and substance abuse. He believes that when we explore our lives and begin to connect our experiences, thoughts, emotions, and sensorimotor experiences, consistently orient ourselves towards health. Waypoints in our journey include feeling safe in our own bodies, communicating our needs to ourselves and others, and establishing daily practices that cultivate health and wellbeing.
Eliot is grounded by an Africentric perspective and a critical multicultural feminist approach. He utilizes motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral and body-based psychotherapeutic modalities when partnering with people on their healing journeys.
Eliot is available for a 15-20 minute free consultation to understand if he is a good fit for you.
